By plane

For those travelling to Istanbul by plane, there are many airlines that offer direct and connecting flights to Istanbul airport (IST) on the European side and Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side.

We recommend that you check with the airline and the Turkish government regarding any visa requirements and travel restrictions that may be in place due to the COVID pandemic.

By car

We recommend that you allow extra time for traffic as Istanbul's traffic can be heavy at times, particularly during rush hour or on weekends when many locals are out and about.
